Over the past year, Insanity has established a Charity and Volunteering Committee, shifting the decision-making process around charitable giving and volunteering from leadership to a team of passionate colleagues.
This committee, made up of colleagues from across all areas of the business, is responsible for determining how both our financial resources and time can used to make the most meaningful and impactful difference in our community.
To ensure everyone has a voice, the committee has created tools that allow all employees to nominate and vote for the charities they would like to support. This year, 50% of our overall donations budget was allocated based on colleague votes. We also increased our overall donations by 14% compared to FY24, going above and beyond our promise to grow giving by at least 10% year on year. (a full list is disclosed at the bottom of this post, for transparency)
We’ve continued our partnerships with Shadow to Shine and Women @ The Well, two charities doing brilliant work. In September and October, Insanity ran a weekly "Ready for Work" programme in partnership with Shadow to Shine, providing underrepresented young people in London with employability training. With Women @ The Well, we host a regular Monday morning volunteering slot, where colleagues assist in organising storerooms, freeing up valuable time for the charity’s core team to focus on their incredible work supporting women who are at risk of or affected by sexual exploitation.
Looking Ahead
In the coming year, we remain committed to the following goals:
Increasing our charitable donations by at least 10% year on year, with oversight and approval from the Charity and Volunteering Committee
Building new, and strengthening existing, partnerships with charities that reflect what matters most to our people
Offering a wide variety of volunteering opportunities to help all employees make full use of their two paid volunteering leave days each year
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far, and we’re excited to continue working together to do more to make real difference in the communities we care about.
