Growing up in Caernarfon, Sian is a proud Welsh speaker and first cut her teeth in radio back in 2018, on BBC Radio Cymru. Sian Eleri is now one of the biggest music tastemakers at BBC Radio 1 and shares her love for music across three shows – Future Artists, The Chillest Show, and The Power Down Playlist. Future Artists is a real milestone for Sian as the show is all about launching new artists and bands across all genres on Monday and Tuesday nights 8-10pm.

In 2024 Sian also landed a weekly show on Selector Radio on Fridays, which is shared with more than 30 countries around the world and connects a global audience to anything and everything that is exciting in the UK music scene right now.

Sian’s on-screen TV profile has reached new heights since she appeared as the main solo presenter on various platforms covering a diverse range of topics – including culture programme Green Space Dark Skies on BBC One Wales and a woman in music special Merched Yn Gwneud Miwsig on S4C.

Her new epic BBC Three series ‘Paranormal: The Girl, The Ghost and The Gravestone’ was released last year on BBC Three and iPlayer. It has been watched by millions; due to its success it was recommissioned, and Series 2 launches this year ‘Paranormal: The Village That Saw Aliens’. Sian has also been confirmed to present the new Welsh speaking language version of ‘The Voice’ for S4C, placing her with the most successful entertainment formats in the world.

As well as being named Music Week’s Rising Star in August 2021, her expertise in music has led to being a member of several judging panels in the industry. These include the AIM Awards, the Youth Music Awards, the British Podcast Awards, the Welsh Music Prize, the BRITs and the prestigious Mercury Music Prize 2023.

Sian is a popular VO artist, representing clients like Google, BBC Archives, 4Music and the Six Nations Championship, to name a few. She’s also voiced BBC podcast ‘Story of Miwsig’ alongside DJ Huw Stephens, and a very popular BBC Wales series ‘SOS Extreme rescue’ plus various music playlists across the BBC Sounds network.

Sian also has extensive experience in hosting live events. Some key career moments include Glastonbury, Proms, Radio 1’s Big Weekend as well as the Welsh Music Prize and the red carpet for the BIFA Awards and the British Society of Magazine Editor (BSME) Awards. Sian also started her own gig night called TONNA’, championing some of her favourite artists.

Sian partnered with Barbour International and was the face of their ‘Badge of an Original’ campaign which celebrated the trailblazers, to encourage people to follow their own direction. Notion Magazine have also featured and celebrated Sian as a rising star, in their iconic magazine talking about the art of storytelling.
