Mwaka Mudenda, AKA Mwaksy, is an energetic and exciting broadcast talent based in Manchester.

Originally from South London, Mwaksy moved to Manchester to study anthropology. She first cut her teeth in the television industry working as an Assistant Producer at BBC Sport, creating digital content that covered a broad range of sporting events such as Wimbledon, The Hundred, and many more. It was her own “Bust Down with Mwaksy” series for the channel which merged fun and fitness by trialling out different dance styles that captured the eye of CBBC producers who offered her a full time presenter role on the iconic show, Blue Peter.

In 2020 Mwaksy became Blue Peter’s 39th presenter and has been in the Blue Peter family for the past three years. Throughout her time on the show she has presented King Charles III with a Gold Blue Peter Badge, qualified for an Accelerated Freefall SkyDive at 15,000ft as her final challenge, and has overall inspired millions of children across the country. She has even secured three Guinness World Records for Blue Peter, with one being in collaboration with Comic Relief.

Most recently, Mwaksy joined the studio hosting team for Bear Gryll’s project Becoming Xtraordinary (Davinci TV), which saw inspiring interview-driven stories of success from world-renowned figures including Julia Roberts, Roger Federer, Courteney Cox, Olympic Gold medallists, Nobel laureates, and more.

Mwaksy has also presented on Sunday Morning Live (BBC), CBBC HQ, This Morning (ITV), BBC Live Lessons, BBC Bitesize, CBeebies Bedtime Stories, BBC Super Movers and BBC Teach. She has previously hosted the coverage of the United Nations General Assembly and has also guested on the likes of Celebrity Catchphrase (ITV), Celebrity Mastermind (BBC), Celebrity Bridge of Lies (BBC), Pointless Celebrities (BBC) and Saturday Mash-Up (CBBC).

Outside of presenting, Mwaksy also loves to act and has had guest roles on Princess Mirror-Belle (CBBC), Odd Squad (CBBC), Silverpoint (CBBC), My Mum Tracy Beaker (CBBC) and the annual CBeebies Christmas Panto, The Nightmare Before Christmas.
