Michelle Ackerley is one of the country’s most exciting and versatile presenters. After completing a degree in Psychology Michelle joined the BBC as a programme maker but her talents were soon spotted when she was asked to present Totally Rubbish for CBBC. She honed her skills for several years in children’s television before joining the team on BBC1’s iconic series, Watchdog.
Since then, she has gone on to present many popular shows for the BBC including; The One Show, Panorama, Watchdog Test House, Council House Crackdown, Fake Britain, Health Check UK Live and Fraud Squad. In 2024 Michelle joined the full-time presenting team of BBC’s flagship morning show, Morning Live, alongside Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones.
Michelle’s other credits include; Luxury for Less (Channel 4), Fantasy Homes By The Sea (UKTV), The Wonderful World of Crafting (Channel 5), Lost Dogs: Live (Channel 5), Ukraine: How You Can Help (Channel 5) and Greg Wallace: The British Miracle Meat (Channel 4). She has previously covered for the following shows on Channel 5; Jeremy Vine, Storm Huntley and Alexis Conran as well as ITV’s Loose Women.
Alongside her role on Morning Live, Michelle co-presents the What They Really Mean for You series on BBC and World’s Strongest Man coverage on Channel 5. She has also presented several one-off event broadcasts for television including BBC’s Sport Relief, London 2012 Olympic Torch Roadshow and BBC D-Day 75 – A Tribute to Heroes and regularly chairs and hosts events across the entertainment industry.
Her career has also spanned across the world of radio where she has presented BBC 5Live’s Weekend Breakfast Show, 5Live’s Drive Show and BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live. Michelle’s warmth and on-screen talent run in the family and she has been lucky to work alongside her mum, Mavis, on several projects. As well as fronting several segments together for The One Show and Morning Live, the pair were part of Magic FM’s Menopause Month in 2022. They also fronted Dirty Rotten Scammers together for BBC daytime in 2022.
Michelle is an Ambassador for Macmillan Cancer Support and Smart Works charities.
