Maya Jama


It’s no surprise that Maya Jama has been named one of Vogue’s most influential girls. Featuring in a six page spread for Vogue in 2019, Maya has also graced the cover of The Evening Standard Magazine, Wonderland, Rollercoster and Women’s Health.

After landing her first big TV job as MTV base show ‘The Wrap Up’ in August 2014, aged just 20, Maya soon went on to present for MTV and Channel 4 among other networks, which was where her broadcast presenting career began.

In 2017, Maya became the youngest ever person to host the MOBO Awards and has again since in 2020 for their first ever virtual ceremony. In 2018 she co-hosted Stand Up To Cancer with long standers Alan Carr and Adam Hills. She has hosted the carpet for BRITS, the 2020 EE BAFTA red carpet and most recently BBC1’s NYE Welcoming in 2021 show with Paddy McGuiness.

Last year Maya hosted the BBC1 show Save Our Summer with Peter Crouch and Alex Horne, became a regular on ITV2s Celebrity Juice and hosted Channel 4’s Young Black and Gifted. She is also into season three of being team captain on the ITV2 Rap show Don’t Hate the Playaz. Since she’s appeared on shows such as Would I Lie To You and twice been a guest on The Jonathan Ross show as well as Big Fat Quiz of the Year. And has just been announced as BBC The Glow Up’s new show host! Maya was seen in her first acting role as Brenda in Katherine Ryan’s Netflix series ‘The Duchess’ which aired in 2020.

Aside from presenting, Maya has launched two sell out collections with fashion brand Pretty Little and is a longstanding ambassador for Adidas, appearing in the European JD Sports Christmas campaign for three consecutive years, Global Superstar campaign and this years Ultra Boost Campaign. She is also an ambassador for Australian hair care brand, Aussie and charity ambassador for SaveraUK. And as well as these, she appeared in a global GAP campaign and a 2019 Spring/ Summer campaign for Kurt Geiger. And after much anticipation, 2021 has seen Maya release her own line of MIJ face masks

Maya Jama announced as host of ITV2's Love Island
ITV2 and ITVX has today announced Maya Jama as the brand new host of Love Island. The award-winning dating show, co-produced by Lifted Entertainment (part of ITV Studios) and Motion Content Group, will return for its 9th series in early 2023.
