Laura Jackson: Broadcaster, Columnist, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Glassette
Laura Jackson is an established broadcaster, brand founder and style and interiors aficionado. In 2021 Laura launched Glassette, the online platform curating homeware from the UK’s best independent brands. Dubbed as the Net-a-Porter for homeware, the digital platform allows consumers to discover new, bespoke and beautiful homeware, hand-selected and sourced through the eyes of its founders. In February 2022, Glassette announced it had raised £1.2 million in its seed-funding round and continues to grow with Laura at the helm as Co-Founder and Creative Director.
In Spring 2022, Laura joined Channel 4’s new 8-part series The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge as a lead judge and fronts interiors podcast called So How Do You, where she speaks to industry guests to get insider secrets that can help make your dream home a reality, no matter your budget. Laura also continues to contribute to Elle Decoration UK as a monthly columnist where she shares discerning design tips and interior inspiration. In 2023, Laura joined Jay Blades as co-host on Britain's Best Beach Huts, where they travelled the UK's coastline to find the best beach huts the country has to offer.
Her down-to-earth and disarmingly funny personality lends itself well to live and studio presenting. A warm and incredibly passionate individual, Laura’s genuine interest in people ensures she always gets the best out of interviewees. Laura initially brought her charm and wit to ITV2’s ‘Take Me Out: The Gossip’, alongside Mark Wright, which hit record viewing figures.
Laura kicked off her TV career presenting Channel 4’s hit music show ‘Freshly Squeezed’ alongside Rick Edwards and Nick Grimshaw. Her love for music saw her host her own live music show called ‘The Music Room’ delivering coverage from Wireless and V Festival and she also interviewed nominees on the Brit Awards red carpet and presented The Brits 2017 coverage for ITV2. Laura has acted as VT presenter for ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother’ and presented full behind-the-scenes coverage for one of TV’s biggest shows ‘Britain’s Got Talent’. In addition, she co-hosted Channel 5s ‘Celebrity Super Spa’ and ‘Stand by Your Man’ and co-hosted BBC Comic Relief’s live ‘24 Hour Panel People’ with David Walliams.
In other categories, Laura presented ‘World’s Most Talented’ on UKTV, a travel talent show which saw her attempt gymnastics in Romania, numerical memory in Japan and snake charming in Malaysia. Through her deep and authentic connection to London’s fashion industry, Laura has become one of the city’s most in-demand fashion influencers with a reputation for embodying iconic British style with a swinging sixties twist. Laura is currently the main host of the London Fashion Weekend Festival and has been ITV’s resident fashion expert on ‘This Morning’.
As well as television, Laura’s passion for cooking has seen her launch the hugely successful Jackson&Levine Supperclub alongside Radio 1 DJ Alice Levine. The long-time collaborators released their debut recipe and lifestyle book, entitled ‘Round To Ours’ due to release through Quadrille in May 2017 to much critical acclaim, as well as releasing and selling out their Habitat range and becoming global ambassadors for Nespresso.
Jackson & Levine’s bi-monthly gastronomic events gained industry recognition with the duo recently curating intimate gatherings for household brands including Marks & Spencer, Sonos and Adidas. The pair also hosted ‘My Pop Up Restaurant’ for Channel 4 and have been the 2016 and 2017 Ambassadors for Fair-trade. Laura’s other passions include shopping for antiques (northerners love a bargain), travel and her whippet Barry. Laura supports Unicef, Coppafeel and works as a mentor for a charity called ‘The School of Confidence’.
In 2018 Laura presented BBC quiz show Ready or Not and fronted a series of talks for Google x Guardian labs, has launched collaborations with top fashion brand RIXO, worked with Calvin Klein and Links of London and curated her own supperclubs alongside brands such as Stella Artois.
2019 saw Laura launch an edit with Warehouse. She also designed lines with Rixo London and Label Mix by Next. Laura launched her lifestyle brand HOSTE, encompassing supper clubs, travel, interiors and a monthly newsletter, which then led to Laura to launch her very own podcast HOSTEing with Laura Jackson. Series one is sponsored by Liz Earle.
She has also recently been on the cover the Sunday Time Style sharing a behind-the-scenes of her house renovation project. She also hosted their most recent series of The Secrets of the Side Hustle Podcast.
