The Travelling Gays
Doug and Sanjay started their Instagram account @thetravellinggays in 2016 and have since amassed over 270k followers. Doug has worked in the travel industry for over 15 years and they initially focussed their content on travel hints, tips and hacks.
They got married in 2019 and in 2020 they started documenting their journey to becoming parents through International surrogacy in the USA. As this coincided with the start of the global pandemic they had to navigate a number of challenges before welcoming their daughter Arya into the world in October 2021.
Sanjay was formerly Executive Director of LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall and they both feel strongly about advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and equality. They are passionate about providing positive representation for same-sex parent families and also busting myths around surrogacy and alternative paths to parenthood. They have now started the initial steps for their surrogacy journey for their second child.
Sanjay has recently launched a podcast, The Proud Parent Club, which tells the stories of LGBTQ+ parents and those on their paths to parenthood, creating a community of its own.
